Many things could describe the "one thing": it could be a lone, gray, stark telephone pole amidst a lush stand of verdant trees; a bank of red, raw soil in the middle of a green landscape, an old, abandoned trestle, a country road, or the mist on the back water of a pond. It's the the "thing" that catches your eye, speaks to your soul and begs you to tell it's simple story. It's a heart-tug that can't be ignored, that longs to be heard, seen, experienced and expressed. You see it, recognize it and you set up your easel do your best to help to tell the story.

If you are an artist, you know what I'm talking about. If you're not but can identify, you also have a gift...the gift of seeing, feeling. I believe that the gifts we receive should also be dispersed to others in every way we can. That's how we can tell the story and honor the blessing of the "one thing".

I'll look for it again tomorrow and try again to tell the story.
