I am a seventh generation Oregonian and a young fine artist seeking to grow, improve and make a significant contribution to the art world, especially emphasizing the story-telling power of painterly expression and celebrating the beauty of my surroundings. There is a reason we are drawn toward beauty, it is the language of nature. To me there is nothing more provocative than beauty, it inspires deep reflection and motivates me to create.

An exhibit and sale of fine art by artist members of the NW Oil Painter’s Guild is being held in “The Gathering Place” at the Pomeroy Living History Farm during the Herb and Garden Festival held Sat. May 16 10:00-5:00 and Sun. May 17 1:00-5:00 at 20902 NE Lucia Falls Rd, Yacolt, WA. Pomeroy Farm is nestled among towering fir trees in beautiful Lucia Valley.
The Oil Painter’s Guild consists of a local group of artists dedicated to painting with oils. Many of the artists paint “en plein air”, out-of-doors on location, capturing the beauty of our world. The members paint in different styles, ranging from realism to impressionism to expressionism. The oil paintings on exhibit will be judged by a local expressionistic artist Michael Orwick. Michael paints oils that are glowing dialogues of light. Several of the artists will have prints and art cards available for purchase along with their original paintings. There will also be a “People’s Choice Award” where the public is invited to vote for the “best” painting, and a Silent Auction.
The Pomeroy Farm’s Herb and Garden Festival features thousands of fresh herb and vegetable plants, live entertainment, vendors, hayrides, and a Farm CafĂ©. Free admission and parking.
