"I have always believed art matters so it is exciting to see some scientific evidence to support the view life is enhanced by instantaneous contact with works of art," said Dr Stephen Deuchar

Art News

Works of art can give as much joy as being head over heels in love, according to a new scientific study.

"What we are doing is giving scientific truth to what has been known for a long time – that beautiful paintings makes us feel much better.
"But what we didn't realize until we did these studies is just how powerful the effect on the brain is."

mystical and haunting New Oil Paintings

New Oil Paintings at my website www.MichaelOrwick.com

Foggy Pines

Medium:
 Oil on Panel
Size: 16 x 20 We discovered these stoic Pines growing on the cliff sides above Indian Beach in Cannon Beach Oregon. The fog rolled in thick and as the sun rose above the hills the gossamer effects of the diffused light was both mystical and haunting.

The 3 posters I have in my painting studio are

Inspirational posters may be silly, but I like to have quotes and sayings posted around my studio that help me be brave, brave enough to start making marks on the canvas each day.

Here are 3 of them I made up and pinned to the wall.  Feel free to use them, share them or share what you have on your walls in the comments.
